We’re excited to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the partnership between the Center for Applied Research and Development (CARD) at Tribhuvan University's, Institute of Engineering (IOE) and WaterAid/the Beacon Project!

The MoU was signed  between the Dean of IOE, Prof Dr Sushil B. Bajrachraya and the Country Director of WaterAid Nepal, Sudarshan Neupane. Prof Dr Vishnu Pd Panday from IOE and other officials of WaterAid Nepal were also present during the signing ceremony.

Through this collaboration, we aim to tackle pressing water security challenges in Madhesh Province by combining scientific research, student engagement, and strategic interventions.

Over the next five years, this initiative will:

Explore 10 key research questions on water security

Support graduate student fellowships and action research

Develop Madhesh Province Water Information System

Publish policy briefs and scientific papers to influence practice

Promote international collaboration through mobility and shared knowledge

By empowering future leaders and fostering academia-industry synergy, we’re not just solving today’s water problems—we’re shaping a sustainable future for generations to come.
